So, apparently PMDG released all the 737s then announced that they were going to be changing the model and textures in such a way that the old FS2020 textures won’t convert over to FS2024. Ok, in their usual cagey, vague, and obtuse way they said nothing of the sort but the implication that anyone working on textures would have to redo them and that repaints on the model as converted and released won’t work. So I’ve scrapped converting my PMDG 737s to FS2024 until I know for sure what changes were made and how badly the textures will be broken.
In the mean time, I’ve been able to reduce the paint kit for the Leonardo 20th Anniversary Maddog to 4k and am working on the early stages of converting the new paint kit so that I can convert my textures from the Maddog X version to the 20th Anniversary edition. The good news is that the changes to the mapping are extremely minimal and most of the changes appear to be in shading and how it handles metal files so conversion should be a fairly easy process once I get the paint kit sorted out.
On the website front I’ve decided to just start over. This also means a new domain name. Once the details are worked out I will post them here. I plan to make the switch gradually. As I update files and pages I will post them on the new site and delete them here. Things will be a little wonky for a bit but I’m going to have to redo a few thousand links anyways so just starting over makes things a bit simpler in the way of making sure I don’t miss anything.

To mis-quote Mark Twain, the rumors of my abduction from the earth by space aliens was mostly an exaggeration. Life has thrown me a few curve balls, a few bags of lemons, and given me a puzzle with more than a few missing pieces to figure out but I’m still standing, well, sitting.
I stopped painting for a while, in part as FS2024 was due out and, well, naturally it changed way more than was necessary for repaints. Now that FS2024 is out and fairly stable, and I have a computer capable of running it at high settings, I am slowly planning on reworking paints to be compatible plus adding new ones. As of right now it takes me about 1-2 hours to convert a paint, assuming I just copy over the old textures. If I make any edits or alterations naturally that might take a bit longer. Now, I have well over 600 FS2020 repaints that I plan on converting so if it takes me a while to convert them, well, you will know why!
The website is also going to be getting an overhaul. In addition to my previously mentioned plan to discontinue P3D support and remove those files, I have been slowly working on a name change for the site. More on the re-branding to come but rest assured the paints will be the same.
Today I started converting my PMDG NG3 paints and while I need to do some work to make sure I have the various models sorted out, it’s looking like I have a conversion work flow established for them. I have also done some tests for the Fenix A320 and should be able to get a work flow for them established soon as well. The new Maddog 20th Anniversary edition will take a little more time to convert. The new textures are proving to be a bit irksome in getting them to a workable state (I don’t use PhotoShop and have to convert them to a format I can use as the PSB files don’t load easily) but I am working on them and hope to have a solution soon. I am also considering keeping them in 4k sizing as a way to reduce the file sizes both on the server and in sim.
In the mean time, fresh out of the paint shop on Wake Island, here’s N737BX on a test flight.
